Buttons the Bunny Learns to Say Sorry
Buttons the bunny was playing in the meadow. He was having so much fun bouncing and hopping! He bumped into Pip the duck, who was swimming in a little puddle. Pip squawked and fell into the mud.
Buttons felt bad. He hadn't meant to hurt Pip. Pip was very upset and cried, "Boo hoo! You made me muddy!"
Buttons didn't know what to say. He usually just ran away when he made a mistake. But this time, he felt a little different. He wanted to make Pip feel better.
He looked around and saw a pretty flower. Carefully, he picked it and hopped closer to Pip. "I...I'm sorry, Pip," he whispered, offering the flower.
Pip looked at the flower, then at Buttons. His tears slowly stopped. "Thank you," he said softly. "It's okay."
Buttons felt much better. Saying sorry wasn't so scary after all. He learned that even when he made a mistake, he could fix it by being kind and saying sorry.
From that day on, Buttons always tried his best to be careful and if he did make a mistake, he learned to say sorry. And he and Pip became the best of friends, playing together happily in the sunny meadow.
